This video—which aired on NBC's
Today Show in late 2009—is a little dated, but should live on as a classic in the annals of storefront crashes. It shows a car crashing into the outside of a convenience store—and nearly landing on top of a little girl.
While bollards represent only one approach to protecting people in retail environments, this is a dramatic example of their potential effectiveness.
